Background and Objective: Artificial intelligence in nursing can be utilized for planning and time management, improving efficiency and decision-making, providing better care, and facilitating remote work. However, based on findings, the use of artificial intelligence in nursing has both benefits and challenges. This study aims to review the findings of studies conducted in the areas of application of artificial intelligence in nursing and examine the results to assess the applicability and usefulness of this technology in nursing. Method: The necessary information was obtained through keyword searches in the PubMed database. Initially, 960 articles were retrieved, and ultimately, 32 articles that examined the areas of application of artificial intelligence in nursing were included in the results table. Results: A narrative review of the studies conducted classified the results of integrating artificial intelligence in clinical environments into six areas: clinical decision support systems, predictive analytics, remote patient monitoring, intelligent physical robots, nursing care plan development, and nursing learning and education. In addition to the benefits of using artificial intelligence in nursing, challenges and considerations for its use were also identified, including accuracy and reliability, bias and fairness, ethical and legal issues, transparency, and explainability. Concerns have been raised about artificial intelligence-based technologies in nursing, with many fearing that they could replace human-to-human interaction and compromise the ethics of care. Other major concerns revolve around the ethical use of these technologies, such as managing data bias and using it to train algorithms. Some of these fears can be alleviated by providing end-users with sufficient information about AI, understanding current research on these technologies, and engaging in transparent discussions about the ethics of AI in nursing.
