Abstract

Background and aims: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complex neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by challenges in communication and social interactions, as well as stereotypical and repetitive behaviors. The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the diagnosis, treatment, and skill training of children with ASD. Method: This study was conducted by searching the PubMed database and Google Scholar search engine using the keywords "artificial intelligence", "autism" and "effectiveness." Among the relevant articles, 9 articles published between 2020 and 2025 were reviewed. Results: Studies have shown that early diagnosis is crucial for the effectiveness of treatment in children with ASD. AI, particularly machine learning methods, can accelerate the diagnostic process by creating automated classification systems. Training various skills in children with ASD has a positive impact on improving their challenges and enhancing their performance in different areas. The appeal of this technology for children with ASD has facilitated skills training for these children. Conclusion: AI-based interventions have positive effects on improving the challenges of children with ASD and facilitating the training of various skills for these children. The accuracy of ASD diagnosis using AI requires further improvement and more studies with a larger statistical population.
