Abstract

Background and Aims: The "Digital Village of Medicinal Plants" is an innovative initiative aimed at leveraging digital technologies to enhance the production, management, marketing, and promotion of medicinal plants as a sustainable and profitable industry. This project seeks to promote organic and sustainable farming practices, establish a digital platform for education and information exchange, enable smart farm management, and create a transparent and efficient digital supply chain. Method: The project integrates cutting-edge technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), blockchain, and data analytics to improve the cultivation, harvesting, processing, packaging, and distribution of medicinal plants. IoT sensors monitor farm conditions such as temperature, humidity, soil status, and irrigation. AI algorithms analyze agricultural data to optimize growth conditions and forecast harvest times. Blockchain technology is used to ensure traceability and transparency across the supply chain. Results: The implementation of digital technologies leads to increased efficiency, reduced costs, and minimized environmental impact. The project contributes to the production of high-quality medicinal plants, supports sustainable agricultural practices, and fosters the development of new markets. Moreover, it generates employment opportunities in agriculture and IT, and increases public awareness about the benefits of medicinal plants through online education and outreach. Conclusion: The Digital Village of Medicinal Plants represents a forward-thinking model for the integration of smart agriculture and digital innovation in the medicinal plant industry. It demonstrates the potential to transform traditional agricultural practices into a tech-driven ecosystem that supports environmental sustainability, economic development, and public health.
