Abstract
Background and aims: The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into nursing care is poised to revolutionize the healthcare landscape. This study aims to review existing literature on the future implications of AI in nursing, focusing on its potential to enhance patient care, improve decision-making processes, and address challenges faced by healthcare professionals. Method: A systematic review of relevant articles published between 2018 and 2025 was conducted across various academic databases, including PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar. The search focused on studies that explored the applications of AI in nursing, highlighting both benefits and challenges. Results: The findings indicate that AI can significantly improve nursing care by providing real-time data analysis, enabling nurses to make informed decisions quickly. AI-driven tools, such as virtual nursing assistants and predictive analytics, facilitate personalized patient care and enhance monitoring capabilities. Studies have shown that AI can reduce human errors in medication administration and improve patient outcomes by allowing nurses to focus more on direct patient interactions. Furthermore, AI has the potential to alleviate staffing shortages by automating routine tasks, thereby increasing efficiency within healthcare settings. Conclusion: The future of nursing care with artificial intelligence presents numerous opportunities for enhancing the quality of healthcare delivery. As AI technologies continue to evolve, they will play a crucial role in redefining nursing practices and improving patient experiences. However, it is essential to address ethical considerations, data privacy issues, and the need for ongoing training for nursing professionals to ensure successful implementation. Embracing AI in nursing will not only enhance operational efficiency but also foster a more patient-centered approach to care.
