This study examines the development and integration of smart pharmacies in hospitals from 2020 to 2024, analyzing their components, benefits, challenges, and future potential. Method: This research explores smart pharmacy technologies, including automation, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), (IoT), and blockchain. It evaluates their impact on drug distribution, inventory management, and patient safety through recent implementations and case studies. Results: Definition of Smart Pharmacies: These pharmacies leverage advanced technologies such as automation, AI, ML, and IoT to improve medication distribution, patient safety, and inventory control. Technological Advancements: Automated Drug Dispensing Systems (ADS): Reduce human errors and improve medication accuracy. AI and ML: Predict medication demand, optimize inventory levels, and detect drug interactions. IoT Integration: Enables real-time monitoring of storage conditions and medication tracking.
