Background and Objective: The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in nursing and midwifery education is increasing. AI can be a way to provide innovative training for students. At the same time, there are concerns about the use of AI in education. Many systematic reviews have been conducted in this field. This study aimed to collect information about the challenges and opportunities of using AI in nursing and midwifery education. Search Method: Web of science, PubMed and Scopus were searched using relevant terms. Titles, abstracts and full texts were screened against eligibility criteria. Data were extracted, analyzed, and findings were presented in a descriptive summary. The PRISMA checklist guided the review conduct and reporting. Findings: Twenty-nine systematic reviews and scoping reviews were found. Fifteen articles were included in this study. AI is a double-edged sword. The findings showed AI in nursing and midwifery education causes progress, personalized learning experience, improvement of learning results of complex concepts and deeper understanding of educational issues. It can also cause students' emotional regulation and change their teaching methods. In addition, AI can provide practical experiences without real clinical risks using clinical scenarios. Some challenges have also been seen in the application of AI in nursing and midwifery education, which include: technical, executive, ethical challenges and the risk of disruption in critical thinking. In addition, there is a need to develop curriculums for students training by AI. Conclusion: The use of AI in nursing and midwifery education is practical and beneficial. However, there are technical and ethical challenges that need to be considered. Nursing and midwifery curriculums need to be developed to accommodate this new technology.
