Abstract

Background and Aim: Renal transplantation is a very important treatment for patients with end-stage renal disease. In general, the success of kidney transplantation depends on precise donor-recipient matching and effective post-transplant care. Precision medicine, a medical approach based on each patient's unique characteristics, is being combined with AI to revolutionize renal transplantation. This study is aimed at discussing how this integration of precision medicine with AI improves donor-recipient matching and post-transplantation care and enhances transplant outcomes. Methods: Extensive literature review and case studies that have been performed up to this date on renal transplantation with AI and precision medicine. Key areas of interest were focused on the utilization of AI algorithms for donor-recipient matching, predictive modeling for transplant outcomes, and AI-driven post-transplant monitoring. Results: AI and machine learning algorithms increase donor-recipient matching while predicting graft survival and rejection risks by analyzing genetic and clinical data. AI tools also enhance post-transplant care through real-time monitoring of patients' health to aid in early complication detection and thus allow timely interventions. Predictive modeling by AI provides forecasts with high accuracy for transplant outcomes, thus helping in personalized treatment planning. Conclusion:Precision medicine, integrated with AI in renal transplantation, offers even more personal, effective ways and better improvement for patients concerning life quality. Fully addressing such challenges as, but not limited to, ethical issues on data privacy and algorithms biased is a must if any of these new technologies were ever to achieve perfection.
