Background and aims: Leadership style can play a role in nurse retention, job stress, job satisfaction, and quality of work life. Choosing the right leadership style by head nurses can not only improve their performance, but also increase nurses' job satisfaction and, as a result, achieve organizational goals.Therefore, the present study aimed to examine artificial intelligence's responses to questions about appropriate leadership styles for nurses. Methods: This descriptive survey study was conducted in 2023 through interviews with ChatGPT to answer 18 questions of the Blake and Mouton Leadership Style Questionnaire, which has two dimensions of task orientation and relational orientation. To examine the data quality indicators in this article, we used the ECHOA and DUAL criteria, which collected a set of measurable criteria for metadata quality. To better understand the criteria, we examined several dimensions of comprehensiveness, accuracy, information richness, and inherent accuracy. The questions were asked in full to the artificial intelligence, and the results of this study were analyzed by considering a negative score for each incorrect answer. Results: ChatGPT version 4 provided answers quickly. After matching the answers generated about the leadership styles of nursing managers with the ECHOA and DUAL tool, it showed that out of a total of 18 questions, 16 were answered correctly and two were answered incorrectly. The average percentage of confidence in answering the Blake and Mouton questionnaire questions was 88%. Conclusion: Artificial intelligence has the potential to accelerate innovation in healthcare and can help to promote equity and diversity in research by overcoming language barriers. The average quality of information produced by AI on leadership style was assessed using measurable criteria of ECVO metadata quality. The quality of the information is acceptable. The findings of this study show that AI Chat GPT version 4 effectively answers questions on leadership style of nursing managers; also, due to the incomplete percentage of correct answers, further studies are needed, and as a result, the answers produced by AI should be evaluated with a correct human answer about appropriate leadership style and all its positive and negative aspects should be accurately evaluated.
