Background and Aims: Gamification in training programs has emerged as a promising approach to enhance engagement and learning, especially in healthcare, where continuous education is crucial. For midwives, proficiency in cancer screening is essential for early detection and improved patient outcomes. Traditional training methods often suffer from low engagement and motivation, issues that gamification can effectively address by making learning more enjoyable and rewarding. This systematic review aims to evaluate the impact of gamified training on midwives' proficiency in cancer screening, comparing it to traditional methods in terms of engagement, knowledge retention, and skill enhancement. Methods: A comprehensive search was conducted across Google Scholar, Web of Science, PubMed, and Scopus using relevant keywords. Articles were assessed for eligibility based on their titles, abstracts, and full texts. Data were meticulously extracted and summarized according to PRISMA guidelines. The evidence included systematic reviews of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and cohort studies from 2019 to 2024. A narrative synthesis method was employed for data analysis. Results: Five studies met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed. The extracted data were categorized into four themes: 1. Engagement and Motivation, 2. Knowledge Retention, 3. Skill Proficiency, and 4. Implementation Challenges. Conclusion: The selected studies indicate that game-based training approaches can effectively enhance cancer screening behaviors and accuracy. The observed increases in screening attendance and improved identification accuracy are promising. However, the variability in study designs, interventions, and outcome measures underscores the necessity for standardized methodologies and larger trials to validate these findings comprehensively.
