Background and aims : In recent years, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has played a pivotal role in nursing education, driven by its remarkable advancements. Through tools such as clinical simulations and personalized learning platforms, AI has created more efficient learning environments and supported students in developing clinical skills and decision-making abilities. However, ethical and security concerns, lack of technical infrastructure, and fears regarding the replacement of human roles remain significant obstacles in this field. Method : This systematic review analyzes previous studies on the application of AI in nursing education. A comprehensive search was conducted using reputable academic databases, including PubMed and Google Scholar. After screening the results, 20 articles were selected, with 5 considered as primary sources for in-depth analysis. This review specifically focused on the opportunities, challenges, and strategies related to the use of AI in nursing education. Results : Findings indicate that AI can enhance nurses’ knowledge and self-efficacy through clinical simulations and data analysis. Additionally, technologies such as natural language processing facilitate quicker access to scientific resources. Nevertheless, financial and infrastructural limitations, along with concerns about data privacy and security, present major challenges. Furthermore, the potential replacement of human interaction continues to raise concerns, highlighting the essential role of human connection in nursing practice. Conclusion : To effectively integrate AI into nursing education, comprehensive legal and ethical frameworks must be established, and students should receive adequate training. AI should serve as a complementary tool that enhances the quality of nursing education and practice. With proper ethical considerations, AI holds great potential to play a key role in advancing the nursing education system.
